“The people in our care have the right to take risks and to be independent, however we MUST intervene if they are putting themselves or another person in danger. The question is, How?”

This training is suitable for:
Carers of all kinds who look after children and young people - teachers, community workers, care home workers, play-scheme workers and therapists. The course is designed to give staff the appropriate skills they may need to control an aggressive or violent child up to a medium level of risk. Please call and ask if you need to confirm the suitability of this course for your environment. We will always attempt to match your training needs to your environment and risk level.
We have successfully delivered this course for teams from Barnardos and MENCAP, along with staff from many local authorities across the UK.
Our training and advice is designed to enable care-giving staff to make informed decisions about when and why and how they should - or should not - use physical force in a care setting. Informed staff will be better able to use their knowledge, judgement and skill to ensure they are acting appropriately and legally to safeguard themselves and their service users in exceptional circumstances.
